This was a great way to sneak in some reduce, reuse and recycle . I purchased some blank canvas tote bags and fabric markers and my students designed new tote bags. My students first design their bags in their sketchbook they then transferred their designs with pencil on to the canvas. For finishing touches I invited a student's parent into class and she taught us how to make bows and we hot glued them on to the bags. We made a party of it ordered pizza a crafted away!

This year to go along with our Day of Dead celebration we made paper flowers. There are lots of great links to paper flower directions and videos and how to make paper flowers. The atmosphere was really festive. All day long I enjoyed seeing my students walk the halls with these beautiful flowers behind their ears.
In NYC every year there is an incredible art show called PS Art. Not only are the student artists of New York City honored they have their work hung at the MET ! Well this year I entered some work that I thought was just outstanding and guess what? A Winner PS Art Catalogue
Sorry it has been so long since I have written a blog entry. But in room 427 we have been very busy. This year has presented new challenges and added responsibilities and I am trying to figure out how to do it all and be a mom. Anyway here is somework.
